President Robert Wirsing, Jr.
Bob retired as a Bank Auditor and Certified Fraud Examiner from Comerica, Inc. in 1996 after 32 years in banking.  Bob is very active in the community as a trustee to a local school board and currently Chairman, President, Director or Member of several non-profits, service clubs and community coalitions involving the improvement of children, local schools and the community.
Vice President – Cindy Anderson
Cindy is an executive assistant for the Cantanese Clinic in New Baltimore. She is responsible for the day-to-day management of the office and works directly court systems scheduling various counseling and other court-ordered programs for clients primarily in the areas of drug and alcohol use.
Fredric Barbret
Fred is the Macomb County Ombudsperson for Smart Bus and is an adjunct Professor in Sociology at Macomb Community College.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Sociology & Political Science and Master of Arts in Sociology degrees from Central Michigan University.  Fred is a member of the CARE Prevention Advisory Committee, the Macomb Inter-Agency Council, and is the Police & Fire Civil Service Commissioner for Roseville ACT 78. 
 
Becky Bolander

Becky is the Pastor of American Lutheran Church, Clinton Township.  Familiar with CARE by hosting the Family to Family project at American Lutheran.  Currently, serves on the Habitat for Humanity and St. Zion Foundation Boards.  Past Board member of Solid Ground. Expertise in human resources, personnel, marketing and public relations.  As a Board member, hopes to inform a broader community of CARE’s services.

Thomas Denewith
Tom has been in education for over 33 years.  He spent 22 years as a High School Principal and now teaches for Wayne State University.  Tom is presently a consultant for Macomb Community College and a Regional Representative for the North Central Association.  For North Central he accredits schools and gives presentations to schools on school improvement.
 
Jim Fischer

Jim is Residential Director of Pathway to Freedom, a residential treatment ¾ house environment for men recovering from a substance use disorder.  Serves on the Michigan Prison Reentry Initiative Steering and Advisory committees, Greater Macomb Project Vox and Macomb County Rotating Emergency Shelter Team.  Expertise in marketing, business connections.  As a Board member, hopes to broaden the knowledge of addiction from a “street perspective.” Work to expand services by assisting on the strategic plan committee. 

 
Curtis Harder

Curt is a Regional Manager in Retail Banking at Flagstar Bank. He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Finance from Michigan State University. Curt is a Founding Board Member of the Rochester Schools Foundation and is a member of Leadership Macomb.

 
Harry Kalogerakos

Harry is an Attorney with experience in municipal law, labor relations, real estate, priority of liens, bankruptcy and commercial litigation.  As a Board member, hopes to develop policies that will allow CARE to grow and deliver its services to more people.” Current Board member of Detroit east, Inc., past Board member of Lutheran Outdoor Retreat Ministries in Michigan.

 
Richard Lange
Dick is presently retired but was a high school teacher and coach, a Union (MEA) representative, a district administrator and a countywide administrator for the Macomb Intermediate School District.
Patrick McLogan
Patrick is the Director of the Health Promotion/Disease Control Division at the Macomb County Health Department.  He has been a Public Health Administrator for over 29 years.  Before coming to Macomb County, he worked at the Detroit and Wayne County Health Departments.  He has served as President and Vice President of the Macomb County Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society.
 
Trev Pawl

MBA, University of Detroit, BBA, Grand Valley State University.  Emphasis:  Organizational Crisis Management and Communication, Restructuring Strategies and Turnaround Plan Execution, Marketing Strategy, Urban Economic Policy and Development.   Employed at ePrize, world leader in interactive promotions.  Represented marketing with the DESC Board Strengthening project at CARE.  As a Board member, hopes to “broaden our reach into new target audiences, more targeted messaging by audience and promote effect client retention/loyalty. Currently serves on the Open Hands Studio as a Board member and 313 Digital and the Collegiate Enterprises Organization.

 
David Saad
David is a retired Parole Agent from the Michigan Department of Corrections where he served for more than 30 years.  He is a graduate of the University of Detroit with a degree in Psychology.  David has experience working with inmates, probationers, parolees as well as other professionals in the criminal justice system.
Lucy S. Smith
Lucy is a retired employee of the Macomb Intermediate School District but still serves them as a contractual employee providing trainings for Macomb County schools regarding bullying prevention. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Michigan.
 
Patti Steele

Works in Consultant Services at the Macomb Intermediate School District, responsible for distribution of Safe and Drug Free School Funding to school districts. Trained as a nurse and health educator.   Currently serves on the Board of the Family Center in Grosse Pointe, CARE’s Friends of CARE, and the Macomb County Community Mental Health Substance Abuse Advisory Committee.  Experience in building collaborative efforts, community outreach and fundraising/events. 

 
Frank E. Vernarsky

Frank is a Probation/Parole Manager for the Michigan Department of Corrections. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Adrian College and Master of Science Degree from Central Michigan University in Public Administration. Frank has over 19 years of professional law experience.
